Faithful to the Future

As the new year begins, we all wonder what the future will bring and we all know that every year we have to make changes and adjustments to the events that we encounter. Change is part of the nature of our life. We try to avoid it, by getting things settled and controlled in a manageable way.This is foolish. God will not let us domesticate our life with God or on any other level. God constantly calls us to change. Remember that God stands in front of us calling us forward. God is full of surprises and every surprise basically says: change. Cardinal Newman, who was beatified last October, was fascinated by the development of the faith. He reminds us that and to be perfect is to have changed often.
